MiG Rolls Out Russia's Raptor Killer By John Roberts, October 2, 2000 What is the significance and relevance of this story to last days prophecy? Many have started to doubt prophecy that says Russia will attack Israel in the last days. After the collapse of communism and the breakdown of the Russian economy people just wrote them off. However, I feel that in one way Russia is actually far ahead of the United States and many of the countries in NATO. The first step in improving something comes after an awareness that something is actually wrong and it needs to get fixed. Russia is now at that point with their economy and military. On the other hand, the US military has been sliding down hill ever since the days of the Bush administration. Most pilots flying our jet fighters are younger than the jet. And that isn't the only problem. Our military infrastructure has collapsed. At one point in time there were a dozen aircraft manufacturing companies in the US that could produce a front line fighter. Today there are only two and that will soon be down to just one, just like the commercial airline industry. As a result the cost of the latest F-22A fighter has risen from $40 million to over $140 million. And that is for an airplane designed over fifteen years ago. When a company like Sony can make almost a billion dollars in one month with their release of the Sony Playstation II gaming system you can't blame industry for fleeing away from military contracts where the average profit margin is less than 3% if any. So don't count Russia out just yet. According to prophecy they will lead an attack upon Israel in the last days. But God will deal harshly with those that fight against Israel. God is going to bring Russia and her allies against Israel so that He may be glorified in their destruction. The following prophecy uses old-world names like Gog, Magog, Meshech and Tubal. But these can be identified with the land far north of Israel known in modern times as Russia.
"Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, The outcome of this battle is clear.
"Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: Russia may be bankrupt but they are still finding money from somewhere for development of state-of-the-art weaponry. Don't count Russia out just yet. We know from prophecy that we have not seen the last of the once great Russian military machine. God is going to allow Russia to raise one more mighty army. Then God is going to destroy that army on the mountains of Israel.
