Four More Years?
By John Roberts, October 15, 2004
What is the significance and relevance of this story to last days prophecy?
In the Revelation of Jesus Christ the last days church of the Laodiceans is described by God as lukewarm, wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked even though they see themselves as rich and have need of nothing.
The door of their church is shut and Christ is knocking calling for someone to let Him in.
I see a lot of parallels between the Laodicean church and the Bush administration.
The clueless Laodiceans are inside playing church while God is knocking at the door.
What good are prayer meetings in the White House if the President allows Christians to be slaughtered around the world, the Ten Commandments to be removed from our court houses, prayer to be removed from our schools, the cross removed from state and city seals, and a supporter of gay marriage to sit as Vice President?
I am not sure what a Kerry administration would do for the country.
I don't agree with him on several issues.
But this much I do know President Bush has not kept a single campaign promise he made four years ago and he is running the country into bankruptcy.
The one thing I find more frightening than a liberal in the White House is a conservative that starts wars, runs up the deficit and thinks Islam and Arabs are our friends.
It is about time for people to examine the record and hold President Bush accountable:
- The Economy
When Bush entered office his administration inherited a projected 5 trillion dollar budget surplus.
Bush and this Congress are running the country into debt to the tune of half a trillion dollars every six months.
And there is no end in sight.
- American Jobs
More quality American jobs have been lost during the Bush administration than at any other time since the Great Depression.
Desirable high paying jobs in industries such as manufacturing, software development, and technical support are flowing out of the U.S. into India and China like water through a sieve.
A dirty little secret has finally been exposed.
Some corporate executives doing business in the United States have been receiving a bonus for every job they send overseas.
The President, his father, the Vice President, and many of their advisors have in the past sat on the corporate boards of many of those very same corporations.
Bush thinks job creation is when senior citizens are forced to flip burgers at a fast food chain because they can no longer get by on Social Security and a pension.
- Health Care
In the last debate Bush said he can't afford to give every American the same policy that Congress gets.
Other nations provide health coverage for their citizens why can't we?
If money is the issue then why Bush is spending 200 billion to rebuild Babylon?
The Bush "ownership plan," a tax fee savings account for the uninsured, is a joke.
Uninsured Americans are uninsured because they do not have the money to pay premiums.
What good is a savings plan when you can't save?
- Prescription Drugs
President Bush says he can not allow Americans to fill their prescriptions with cheaper drugs from Canada because their drugs may be unsafe.
Has Bush told the Canadians they are taking unsafe drugs?
According to the President he is really protecting the American public by not allowing us to buy drugs from Canada.
That's because when Pharmaceuticals sort their drugs the unsafe pills are earmarked for Canada while the safe ones remain here in America.
When you listen to what the President says on issues important to the average citizen it is just laughable.
Why do Americans pay ten times the price for the same pills as Canadians?
Ours are safe, theirs are not?
No, the real reason is if we were allowed to buy drugs from Canada the windfall profits for drug companies that support the President would dry up.
- Education
Four years ago candidate Bush promised to stop double dipping parents that send their kids to private schools.
He said school vouchers would give every child in American the opportunity to get a quality education.
To date the only kids receiving government school vouchers are those residing in the Washington D.C. school districts.
I find that very telling.
Our public schools are in trouble.
Most of the after school programs that were available to me as a child have been done away with to save money.
Driver's education, shop classes, and many after school sport programs are all gone.
And teachers today think assigning two hours of homework a night is actually "teaching."
What a mess and it is getting worse.
And I find all of this strange considering the First Lady was a school teacher.
- Civil Rights
My grandfather immigrated to America from Italy.
He lived on the East Coast and eventually traveled across country to settle in California.
Along the way he passed through the state of Texas.
In those days the Lone Star State had segregated restrooms; one said "Whites Only" and the other said "Blacks."
Like most Italians my grandfather had an olive complexion and dark curly hair.
Because of the color of his skin and color of his hair those Texans thought it best that my Italian grandfather stay out of the Whites Only restroom as well.
When you treat the poor, hungry, and disenfranchised worse than your animal God will hold you accountable.
Some people don't have a clue that perilous times are just ahead.
Luke 17:26-30
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
I John 2:15-18
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
