A Fair Judge, The Public or Jackson?

By John Roberts, October 3, 2000

What is the significance and relevance of this story to last days prophecy?

Bill Gates is not at the top of my list of people that I admire but I do give him credit for what he has done . I think he will someday be very sorry that he said, "I have better things to do on Sunday than go to church."

He may be one of the richest men in the world but when he dies he will be stripped of all those earthly trappings. Like the rest of us he will stand before God to give an account of himself. My bet is that Bill will then wish he had spent his Sundays studying the Word of God instead of Developing "Microsoft Word."

Having said that, I can think of few men who have done so much to make our daily lives more productive. The next time you sit at a keyboard and type out a letter using Microsoft Office think about how much time you just saved over the old process using the typewriter. Then multiply that times a billion letters, per day. How much time has Bill saved us all?

Let us give credit where credit is due. In my book Windows and Office rank right up with the discovery of electricity in terms of a positive impact on society. But this counts for nothing in this shark eat shark world.

Today we see a "top the tulips" mentality. The other CEO's are jealous that Bill has beaten them in the boardroom so now they have teamed up with the government to try and tear Bill down in the courtroom.

Take this as a warning. What is happening to Bill can happen to us all someday. In these last days we have a world where you better not fall down. Few people are going to stick out a hand and help you get up.

In fact most people will instead stick their hand in you pocket and rob you as they walk right over your back, and all this without even breaking stride.

But you can also take heart in knowing that the Messiah is coming. He will set up His kingdom. At that time we will not rely on these kangaroo courts that pervert justice. The Lord will administer true justice, God's justice.
