What is the significance and relevance of this story to last days prophecy?

The news of an American citizen joining a terrorist organization and picking up arms against his own country is a sign of the times. I believe there will be more stories like that of John Walker in the future. John was raised by ultra liberal parents. That was part of his problem. Their philosophy of life is "anything and everything goes, all experimentation is enlightening."

The problem with this mantra of liberalism is that it is wrong. There are limits and boundaries to proper human behavior. And there are consequences to be paid for the things we do in this life.

Videotape from Afghanistan shows Osama bin Laden laughing and smiling with joy as he explains the "better than expected results" of his September terrorist attacks. This mass murderer can be seen on camera down right giddy over killing thousands of innocent people. John Walker chose to fight for this madman of his own free will. In fact John was not recruited but volunteered. John trained in the same camps used by the terrorists involved in the September attacks.

This is more than a case of treason. John Walker is more than a traitor. John Walker is evil, just like Osama bin Laden and all the other Muslim terrorists in the world.

The Fruit Of Islam

John Walker converted to Islam and started down a path that compelled him to kill Christians, Jews, Hindus, and anyone else perceived as an impediment to Islamic control of the world.

This highlights the problem of terrorism. You will never put a stop to terrorism unless you address the evil force that produces and controls these monsters. Even if all those responsible for 9-11 were captured and brought to justice and their terror infrastructure dismantled it would not solve the real issue. Islamic terrorism will just rise up again under a new generation of smarter and more devious terrorists.

Where would we be today if after the defeat of German soldiers in WWII Hitler and the Nazis were allowed to remain in power? I will tell you where we would be. We would have another situation just like we have in Iraq. We crushed the Iraqi forces but left Saddam in power and today we face the same threat as we did ten years ago. Without a doubt Islam and its quest for world domination has become the number one threat to global security.

Islam is the force behind terrorism today. Islam raises up and trains terrorists and then exports these killers around the globe. Muslim terrorists are Islam's instruments of terror. They are used to put pressure on governments to accept a certain pro-Islamic political goal. The current rounds of terrorist attacks are intended to turn public opinion against Israel.

The Islamic world is sending out a message that America was attacked because of our support for the Jews. If we want the terror to stop "all we need to do is withdraw our support for this tiny nation." If we were to do that you would see Islam try once again to push the Jews into the sea.

Despite all the rhetoric, the Palestinians have never accepted the right of Israel to exist. The Palestinians want an independent state with East Jerusalem as their capital. Islam wants to expand their toehold in Israel. Once they get this they will bring in millions of Muslims through immigration, along with the weapons to arm them, and then they will attack Israel.

Islam must be told to keep their hands off of their neighbor Israel. God gave this land to the Jews. It is their inheritance. Islam must be told to stop murdering Christians, Jews, and non-believers. Islam must be told to stop exporting terrorism or face serious consequences.

The History of Islamic Intolerance

Islam has never been known as a religion of peace, freedom and tolerance. Those who have actually studied history know Islam is a religion founded by a terrorist.

Mohammed ran a caravan protection business. He soon thought it more lucrative to rob caravans than protect them. Along the way he wanted to be accepted as the Second Coming of Christ and the Jewish Messiah. Jews and Christians rejected these ridiculous claims and so Mohammed exterminated the Jewish tribes in Arabia and forced Christians to pay tribute or suffer the same fate. This was the start of Islamic intolerance and hatred for Christians and Jews.

Islam means "submission to Allah," and a Muslim is one that "submits to Islam" and becomes "a slave of Allah." The goal of Islam is to bring about by force a worldwide theocracy with Allah as the ruler of society, with no democracy, no free will and no freedom of expression or religion.

Think about that the next time you hear a representative of the Saudi government on CNN saying Islam has a long history of tolerance, freedom of religion, and peaceful coexistence with Christians and Jews. Try to bring a Holy Bible into Saudi Arabia and you will quickly find the lack of respect and tolerance Muslims have for all non-believers.

This brings us to something that is very difficult for westerners to come to grips with. In western culture lying is not considered a virtue as it is in Islam. A Muslim's word, when given to a non-believe, should never be taken seriously. According to the Koran it is not a sin for a Muslim to murder, torture, steal from or lie to a Jew or Christian that has not submitted to Islam. Lying and murder are condoned if it benefits Islam.

Lying and deception are key weapons of the trade for terrorists. And Muslim terrorists have raised lying to an art form. The 9-11 terrorists told passengers to go to the back of the plane, keep quite, and don't resist and they would not be harmed. The U.S. government and the airline industry recognized after 9-11 that Muslim terrorists are liars. They now encourage people to resist and fight back no matter what terrorists say.

Islam and Jesus Christ

Islam denies the Deity, death and resurrection of Jesus. Islam teaches that Jesus never died on the cross. Islam denies the forgiveness of sins through His shed blood. Islam contradicts many facts and truths of the Bible. Islam denies Israel was ever a nation or that the Jews ever built a Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Anything that opposes the work and plan of God is the spirit of Antichrist, and that is evil, not great. Think about that the next time you hear Billy Graham, our President, and other misinformed Christians call Islam a "great religion."

Satan is at war with God and mankind. God's plan is to redeem man through faith in Jesus Christ. Satan therefore counters God with false and deceiving religions embracing the spirit of Antichrist. How can you recognize this evil spirit?

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. I John 4:1-3

This scripture clearly identifies Islam as a false religion, an Antichrist religion, and Muhammad a false prophet. The spirit of Antichrist is the spirit of Islam. And that is why Muslims want to destroy Israel (God's nation), Jews (God's chosen people), America (leader of the free world), and Christians (people that know the true way to salvation and God). That is all you need to know to understand the true nature and character of Islam.

Women And Islam

Mohammed took a second wife just before he was driven out of Mecca. He married the seven-year-old daughter of his friend Abu Bakr. This was not the custom at that time, it was not considered normal or acceptable, and was one of the reasons why Mohammed was driven from the city. When a self proclaimed prophet commits an act of perversion it tends to discredit their claim to be holy.

The fact is Islam is a pagan religion fueled by hatred and sex. This is proven out in the Islamic view of heaven. All sects of Islam believe and teach that heaven is a place of eternal sexual pleasure.

Muslim men expect to see virgins chained to couches when they get to heaven. And the sole purpose of these women is to serve the desires of Muslim men for eternity. And according to Islam these women regenerate their virginity every 15 minutes to further please Muslim men!

Islamic "martyrs" such as suicide bombers, young boys used to clear mines by stepping on them, and the terrorists involved with the attacks of 9-11, were told by their Muslim clerics that 70 virgins waiting for them! That is not religion, it is sick and wicked. And perhaps now you can understand why Islam treats women like subhuman possessions.

The typical American has no idea what it is like to live under Islam's heavy hand. In countries such as Afghanistan people were living like prisoners in their own homes. In the Sudan Arab Muslims round up and sell Christians into slavery. In much of the Islamic world it is still like it was from the beginning of Islam, Christians and Jews are simply captured, held for ransom, tortured and killed.

Antichrist and Islam

Islam is comprised of Muslims from many countries including America. The Muslim world has a very diverse ethnicity, with two major sects and hundreds of small splinter groups. But regardless of their differences all Muslims carry a common hatred for non-believers, specifically Jews and Christians.

This should not be surprising to anyone. Islam is the spirit of antichrist, and we know from Scripture that in the last days Antichrist will hunt down and kill Christians and Jews.

"He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time." Daniel 7:25

In America people have the freedom to worship as they please. But the time is coming when Christians and Jews will be persecuted all over the world, even in the United States. "A time and times and half a time" means 42 months in prophetic time. After the Antichrist has taken control of the world, which according to prophecy will also take 3 1/2 years, he will have another 3 1/2 years to try and crush Israel and Christianity.

Rev 13:7-8 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

But the Antichrist will find out, like the Romans before him, that the more you persecute Christians the faster the Word of God spreads. Evil can kill our bodies but Christ will conquer all.

God tells us what the world will be like during this time of last days Tribulation:

Matt 24:7-21

  7     "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
  8     "All these are the beginning of sorrows.
  9     "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake.
  10     "And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
  11     "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
  12     "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
  13     "But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
  14     "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
  15     "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),
  16     "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
  17     "Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.
  18     "And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.
  19     "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
  20     "And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
  21     "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

There are some real gems in these verses:

"You will be hated by all nations for My name's sake ... And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another ... And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold."

Oh how true this is today. The world hates Christians and Jews and they hate the Word because it convicts their wicked ways.

Prophecy and Jerusalem

Many today believe the problem with Muslim terrorists would go away if Israel would just give into Palestinian demands for an independent state with East Jerusalem as their capital. But peaceful coexistence with Christians and Jews has never been the objective of Muslims or other instruments of Satan.

In the book of Revelation we find a very interesting passage:

"And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 12:17

The "dragon" is Satan. The "woman" is Israel. "Her offspring" are Jews and Christians. This passage shows us how much the Devil hates everything that is of God. Satan would kill us all if God did not restrain him. Islam is just another tool, like the Romans before them, used by Satan to get at God's chosen people.

Jerusalem is God's city. Our Lord will rule the world from the Temple Mount. And it is because Jerusalem is so important to God that Satan has made this city his primary target.

In the book of Zechariah we see that God will use Jerusalem as the hook to draw evil nations to judgement.

"Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. Zechariah 12:2-3

Jerusalem is arguably the most burdensome piece of land on earth today. The Jews have been very "tolerant" of Islam, allowing several pagan mosques to remain on God's Mount. But this is not enough. Islam wants complete control over God's city.

Islam and their allies, the United Nations and the European Union, is putting pressure on Israel to give up sovereignty over the Holy City. Arafat wants Jerusalem to be declared the capital of two nations, Palestine and Israel.

Regardless of what people want today we know from prophecy that some type of treaty between Israel and the Arab world will be signed when the Antichrist comes to power. Scripture tells us that Israel will be allowed to rebuild their temple on the Mount but part of God's Holy Mount will remain under gentile control until Jesus returns.

"But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months." Revelation 11:2

"And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. Luke 21:24

"Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place ..." Matthew 24:7

This verse is very important. The "holy place" is a term for the Holy of Holies in God's Temple. This was the small room where the Ark of the Covenant was kept. Today there is no temple on the Mount. So in order for the "abomination of desolation" to be set up in the "holy place" a temple must first be built.

Some say this prophecy was fulfilled during the Seleucid dynasty, 175-163 B.C., when Antiochus IV desecrated the temple. Others say this was fulfilled in 70 A.D. when the Romans burned Jerusalem. But these are silly and preposterous claims so typical of modern day "biblical scholars" lacking guidance from the Holy Spirit and common sense.

In Matthew Jesus uses the future tense when speaking of the abomination of desolation. If this prophecy had already been fulfilled I think God would have known about it.

And this prophecy could not have been fulfilled by the Romans in 70 A.D. either. In Revelation John tells us that the image is of the Beast, the Antichrist, and that it is set up in the temple for 42 months. And the Antichrist, his image, and the False Prophet will be destroyed at the Second Coming of the Lord. The Antichrist has not been revealed to the world yet.

And this brings us to the major point of this news story. Israel has become a nation again after nearly two thousand years. Jerusalem is the capital of the Jews. And now we stand at the edge of prophetic history only moments away from the fulfillment of last days prophecy.

Jerusalem has become a "burdensome stone for all people." By this you know that we are in the last days.

The Antichrist will sign a treaty with Israel allowing the Jews to rebuild the Temple on the Temple Mount. Part of the Mount will remain in Gentile hands. The Jews will again institute sacrifices. After 3.5 years the Antichrist will break the treaty with the Jews, put an end to the sacrifices, which point to Christ, and the False Prophet will set up and image of the Beast in the Holy of Holies. Forty-two months later, with the armies of the world gathering in Israel to do battle, the Lord will come down to the Mount of Olives and fight for his people.

Islam has a history of killing innocent Jews and Christians. Islam wants to push Israel into the sea. Muslims want to take control of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. These are the same goals of Satan, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet. Islam is not "great." Islam is evil.

Islam has an appointed day waiting for it sometime in the near future. The Lord, the God of Israel will destroy all those who fight against Israel, when He comes to fight for His people, His Jerusalem, His Holy Mountain, His Temple Mount.

Muslims have a big surprise waiting for them in heaven. Instead of virgins chained to coaches they will find the Great White Throne of God and judgement.

Those people who are sympathetic to Islam are either ignorant or evil. God does not want us to be tolerant of evil or "united" with people of pagan beliefs. Life is about salvation through Jesus Christ. Those who die without the covering of His blood will not inherit eternal life. Muslims do not need to conquer the world or control Jerusalem. They need Christ.

It is better to be hated by the world and loved by God than to compromise your faith in the only name that brings salvation. Islam is nothing less than a Satanic force fighting against the God of Israel. Those who join Islam will also partake of God's judgement of Islam.

"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
